Project Overview: Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland's nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas. Job Summary: In this role, you will plan, develop, and review electrical engineering design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review key electrical drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure electrical designs comply with all regulations and standards. This position is for a SmartPlant 3D Designer who will prepare electrical 3D designs as well as 2D electrical AutoCAD and SmartSketch designs to support Poland AP1000 Project. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. This role will support design development of electrical systems and equipment for the Poland AP1000 project by preparing models, drawings, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. The candidate will work with electrical engineers, junior designers, and other technical disciplines in a team environment. Major Responsibilities: Supporting, coaching, and training less experienced designers. Modelling of electrical rooms, equipment, cable tray, conduit, underground distribution (such as conduit duct bank), lighting, receptacles, etc. in a Smartplant 3D model environment. Creating bill of materials and drawing installation details for the modelled items listed above in addition to grounding, lightning protection, support details, and other details using SmartSketch and AutoCAD. Performing calculations utilizing AGI 32 for lighting layouts and ETAP for ground grid layouts. Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines. Responsible for physical design implementation by producing drawings of interior and exterior layouts/plans/elevation views of the raceway design (conduit/cable tray/duct bank), equipment location and layout, lighting layouts, lightning protection layouts, and grounding plans. Coordinate with systems engineering department to establish and verify design/project requirements. Capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry-proven concepts, and procedures. Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews design work within a medium-size Electrical design work group on projects of medium size or assignments in support of global business unit Produces drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing.
